Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
EFT also called “Tapping”, stands for Emotional Freedom Technique and is the most popular form of Energy Psychology.
Think of it as an emotional version of acupuncture. Instead of using needles, we stimulate meridian points on the face and body by using fingertips to tap gently on key acupuncture points. It works on the premise that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system. Everything is energy and body and mind are intrinsically connected. When our energy is flowing freely, we feel at our best. When it is blocked, either physically or emotionally, our mind and bodies become restricted, illness ultimately appears.
An EFT session focuses on both cognitive (mind) and somatic (body) stimulation releasing stress and anxiety, clearing blocks, traumas as well as limiting beliefs. EFT brings us back into a natural balance between our mind and body.
EFT applies to ALL negative emotions. That includes anger, resentment, guilt, sadness, shame, grief, physical or emotional pain, anxiety, phobias, addictive cravings, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), long term diseases and their side effects and any other negative emotion one could think of. EFT allows to explore all our senses through metaphors, activating our unconscious brain, in order to obtain effective and long lasting results.
What are the benefits?
EFT is a simple self-applied technique that can be used any time, anywhere, under any circumstances and by anyone
High Success Rate
EFT has a high success rate and it works ! It is scientifically proven that it helps people release and get rid of a wide range of emotional, physical and performance problems – PTSD, anxiety, phobias, depression, etc… All this happens without any medication or long drawn out therapy processes.
No Past Analysis
Unlike traditional therapy, EFT does not require an analysis of your past experiences. It simply looks at removing the disruptive energetic charge linked to the negative emotions. This technique has proven to reduce the conventional therapy process from months or years down to a short time, sometimes minutes.
EFT can be applied to just about any issue or trauma. Often when dealing with one aspect of a problem, many others simply disappear. Many people are surprised by collateral side benefits, sometimes completely unconscious and unrelated to what is being worked on.
Roger Callahan is the original founder of tapping techniques from the 1980s. He first developed this when he discovered that tapping on a specific meridian point on his client cleared her 30-year water phobia! In 1995, Callahan’s student, Gary Craig, an American Stanford engineering graduate specializing in healing and self-improvement, developed and simplified tapping using all the meridian points : https://www.emofree.com/
“Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a novel therapy that combines both cognitive and somatic elements. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses have demonstrated its’ efficacy for both physiological and psychological symptoms. A current research bibliography lists more than 100 studies published in peer-reviewed journals (Research.EFTuniverse.com). Its efficacy extends across a wide sample of populations, including college students, veterans, pain patients, overweight individuals, hospital patients, athletes, health care workers, gifted students, chemotherapy patients, and phobia sufferers. When measured against the standards of the American Psychological Association’s Division 12 Task Force on Empirically Validated Treatments, EFT is found to be an “evidence-based” practice for anxiety, depression, phobias, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).”
