Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), is often called Tapping’. Think of it as an emotional version of acupuncture. Instead of using needles,  we stimulate meridian points on the body by using fingertips to tap gently on key acupuncture points. This  has the effect of treating both physical and emotional conditions. Roger Callahan is the original founder of tapping techniques from the 1980’s. He  first developed this when he discovered that tapping on a specific meridian point on his client cleared her 30 year water phobia! In 1995 Callahan’s student, Gary Craig, an American Stanford engineering graduate specialising in healing and self-improvement developed and simplified tapping using all the meridian points. Today, EFT is the most popular form of energy psychology. It works on the premise that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system. When our energy is flowing freely, we feel at our best. When it is blocked, either physically or emotionally, our mind and bodies become restricted. An EFT session focuses on releasing and clearing blocks, traumas and limited beliefs bringing us back into natural balance.

It makes so much SENSE to use EFT to reach a happier life as it applies to ALL negative emotions. That includes anger, resentment, guilt, sadness, grief, physical and/or emotional pain, anxiety, phobias, addictive cravings, PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), long term diseases and their side effects (cancer, in which I specialise in) and any other negative emotion one could think of. EFT allows to explore all our senses through great metaphors, activating our right brain, in order to obtain effective and long lasting results.

It is how we make sense of our story, not what happened in our past that is the best predictor of our well beingIt is our connections and disconnections and reconnections that create resilience in our inner child and mend our own hearts.

“As a practicing psychiatrist with over 25 years of clinical experience, I see EFT as the most promising new treatment I’ve ever encountered. Eric Leskowitz, M.D., Department of Psychiatry, HARVARD Medical School.

“It is necessary to own and honour the child who we were in order to Love the person we are. And the only way to do that is to own that child’s experiences, honour that child’s feelings, and release the emotional grief energy that we are still carrying around.”  Robert Burney

What are the benefits of EFT ?

  • EFT has a very high success rate and it works! It helps people release and get rid of a wide range of emotional, physical and performance problems. All this happens his without any medication, surgery, radiation or long drawn out therapy processes.
  • Unlike traditional therapy, EFT does not require an analysis of your past experiences. It simply looks at  removing the disruptive energetic charge linked to the negative emotions. This technique has proven to reduce the conventional therapy process from months or years down to a short time, sometimes minutes – generally, it takes a few hourly sessions.
  • EFT can be applied to just about any issue or trauma. Often  when dealing with one aspect of a problem, many others simply disappear.
  • Many people are surprised by collateral side benefits, sometimes completely unconscious and unrelated to what is being worked on. ♥
